Hungry Like The Wolf | Duran Duran
You feel him arrive before you actually see him. Your entire world seems to tighten around you, the dank air is throbbing with pressure, like there’s someone knocking at your door and then-
He pushes through the barrier, and you know you aren’t alone anymore.
You whimper in the back of your throat. You can feel him moving inside of you, through your world, because this place is you, every last bit, down to the dirt beneath his feet. You feel him getting closer. Barebulb lights flicker to life above him, one by one, lighting the way and leading him to where you are waiting. His presence seems to swell the nearer he is, it’s filling in the gaps in the floorboards and the holes in the walls, he’s filling you up.
By the time you actually see him you’re already a hot, shivering wreck. His eyes meet yours and his mouth stretches into a smirk sharp enough to cut into the core of you.
You let out the breath you didn’t know you’d been holding.
You see no need to be slow or gentle with him. He’d like it, of course. Hugs and soft kisses, holding hands. But anything, anything is just as good as that and you don’t want everything, everything at once. You mash yourself against him. Somehow there’s a stable wall behind John for you to throw him against. You don’t know or don’t care if it was there a moment ago.
The kisses that follow devour you both. Your hand at once goes down to claw at his inner thigh, force them apart and stick your own between them. You grind it upwards, then roll your hips into his other leg. You are now tearing off the scarf you’re wearing, the jacket, the shirt. They fall unceremoniously to join the trash, covering a tangle of bent, rusted pipes.
Dave is coming to see you. To see you. Aren’t you a lucky one. You fuss over the state of your… home. This is your home right? It looks like your old apartment, it’s just a little out of shape.
>Tidy up before Dave arrives!
You try to unravel a curled strip of wallpaper and stick it back on the wall, but it just flops down again the second you let go.
No wonder he never wants to visit you….
There’s a broken mirror leaning next to a torn velveteen couch, one metal spring jutting out, like the couch has been stabbed and a swirl of guts will always spiral out in stasis; an eternal wounded moment. This is John’s world. This is John. Your John, the true self, not the flesh that lives in denial with the blind part of you.
You can see it because this world has gifted you with powers the power to transcend in general. Not merely in personality have you attained a heightened awareness but you can move through glass like doors, can scry visions on smooth surfaces. You see so much now.
You see too much.
And you are increasingly aware about Them. They see John as well. He’s irresistible and his true self has no desire to resist for them. It’s how you like him but it’s terrifying, like being in constant freefall. You go past a wrought iron fence wound together like a cage, past several hanging ropes. A wooden beam falls before you with a groan, collapses, and kicks up a haze of unidentifiable powder.
As much as you’d rather be where you were, this is a truly beautiful place.
And there is the most terrible beauty in all of this terrible mess.
Question with 1 note
shadowk6k9 asked: if um...j-john's cheating on you, doesn't that mean you, um, can do the same?
> Dave: Go to the third layer.
You do, and then you check your ask box. Awesome.
“i could technically do the same before!! the fuck would he do, leave me for being unfaithful? i’d just be a hypocrite, which i am already, unashamedly.
“short answer is yeah, yeah i can do the same. but why should i??”
“what can you offer that’s better than a whore trained by his older brother to fuck properly?? he never told me how long. maybe he was raised for sexual purposes by him.
“it’d explain why he’s so good and so compliant. can you do better??”

You do and don’t, because it’s marked ooc! But then, isn’t all of this persona stuff ooc? And then above that, the fact that they even know paradox clones such as James Strider and his son Dave Strider or that it’s commonly accepted you even have an older self…. And then above that.
This is 3 layers of inception. At 4, aren’t you in limbo? You have to tread carefully….
